Training course "Embracing Diversity" in Bonn, Germany

“Embracing diversity” was an international training course about exploring different concepts and elements of inclusion and diversity, looking for common grounds and beyond differences. It gathered 25 professionals from different sectors: youth work, education, social work who work on topic of diversity.

 

Eleven European countries  participated in this seminar: Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Romania, Spain and Greece. Youth Center of Epirus took part in this training course with 1 participant who is coordinating international projects and doing youth work at our youth center. 

 

The training was organised and hosted by the by the German National Agency for Erasmus+:Youth in Action in cooperation with SALTO Inclusion & Diversity Resource Centre. The training course was funded by the Erasmus+: Youth in Action programme.

 

Aims and general objectives of the training course are:

  • To upskill youth workers in how to manage diversity in their daily work and in youth activities. The participants will also learn how to help young people appreciate diversity and cooperate despite their differences.
  • To explore and share concepts and different forms of diversity and inclusion and learn from approaches and methods used in youth work and other different sectors, such as business or formal education.
  • To translate these tools and methods into their own practice in youth work.
