Youth exchange “It’s Time for Mediate” in Valencia, Spain

In the framework of the Erasmus+ program, the youth exchange “It’s Time for Mediate”, took place in the beautiful Valencia, Spain from 3 to 10 May 2023. The youth exchange, “It’s Time for Mediate”, is a project organised by Young Travellers that has the main topic of integration of refugees and minorities. This youth exchange involved 30 participants from Poland, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Portugal, Romania, Greece and Spain. One of the Greek participants reports:

"Immigration is a social problem caused by socio-economic conditions and the lack of job opportunities. In the Valencian Community, it is a concern that has increased in recent years. Immigration, mostly illegal, brings with it other equally serious problems such as problems of adaptation and integration, increased labour competition, new pockets of poverty, increased discrimination and xenophobia and lower wages due to increased competition. In order to raise awareness among the European public and to take action, the project “It’s Time for Mediate” was created.

We met new people, got socialized and exchanged ideas and opinions with different cultures. Moreover, we shared personal thoughts, ideas, time, and space which was something very important for our personal development. Furthermore, we tried special typical flavors from all the European countries, and we tried to dance in different rhythms during the cultural nights. We socialised with every person who participated in this project, and we wish that we could meet again in the future!"
