Gökçe and Panos

Gökçe from Turkey joined ESC voluntarism project in Ioannina, at our organisation Youth Center of Epirus. The project "Dream of ESC Volunteers S02" was coordinated and supported by the organisation Mozaik Human Resources Development, based in Samsun, Turkey.

Their main activities were to help to run the youth center, offer daily activities to young adults (18 - 30 years old), plan and manage small scale events (discussion topics, workshops etc) and work on online content creation especially related to the people and culture of the city and region of Epirus. Gökçe:

Ioannina was my first trip overseas. Giorgo and Marta received me after a 15-hour drive. Their friendliness and warmth put me at ease. Because this was my first project. I rapidly adjusted to this environment owing to Marta and Giorgo, as well as the other volunteers. With its lake and people, Ioannina is a really cute and entertaining city.

Some of the most priceless experiences of my life. I used to live there. Getting to know people from various cultures has greatly enriched my life. For me, the week we spent at Stavroskiadi was one of the most productive and delightful. It breaks my heart to leave you. I hope to see you again in future projects. Thank you very much.
